Why Fiberglass?

  1. 25 year manufacturers warranty on structure, the first San Juan pool was installed in 1958.
  2. Less maintenance than concrete by up to 70%. Never needs remarciting or liner replacement.
  3. Savings on electricity - run equipment only four hours a day instead of 10 - 12 hours for concrete pools.
  4. Savings on chemicals. Fiberglass does not leach Alkali (a by product of cement and plaster) into the water - so you use less acid.
  5. A pool that outlasts Gunite or vinyl liners in useful life.
  6. A pool designed and built by a manufacturer under controlled conditions. More than 51,000 pools have been installed across the United States and Canada!
  7. A smooth surface of non abrasive material. No bleeding toes and fingers or worn bathing suits.
  8. More resistant to stains than an ordinary plastered finish.
  9. More economical than vinyl to maintain, no replacement of liners.
  10. Smooth less porous finish will not allow algae to penetrate its walls (light brushing will remove algae easily).
  11. No acid washing or sand blasting.
  12. The only fiberglass pool to which ceramic tile can be applied at the factory. Our tile is applied under factory controlled conditions with a silicone latex which has a built in algae inhibitor to deter algae growth. We have a 10 year warranty on our tile installation!
  13. 17 times stronger (flexurally) than concrete.
  14. Structural stiffeners in our side walls provide extra support during installation and back filling.
  15. Largest selection of fiberglass pools & spas available.
  16. All the great options available for your complete swimming pleasure and for beautification of your existing or planned landscape.
  17. Our pools are built with 5 layers of fiberglass woven roving and mat saturated with resin and hand laid one layer at a time. This means a stronger shell!
  18. In stock pool and spa availability for viewing at the factory. See how your pool is made, before you see it in your yard)
  19. 10 day installation - this is the average time needed for your swim ready completion.

  21. Year round installation.
  22. Complete, ready to swim packages, at an affordable price.

Why Not Cement?

Because they don't last nearly as long as a fiberglass pool!

Concrete pools tend to fall victim to hydrostatic pressure which causes the pool to lift right out of the ground (see right). When this happens, your concrete pool is ruined! No amount of repair can make it usable or safe ever again.
Concrete pools simply don't wear as well or last as long as the premium San Juan pool models we install at Sunco Pools. The picture on the left shows how a concrete pool can erode, crack and generally decay far more quickly than its fiberglass counterpart!
Install a fiberglass pool to begin with, and you can avoid years of worrying about whether your swimming pool is slowing breaking apart or about to crack from stress or water pressure. Your new San Juan swimming pool will provide you with a lifetime of great swimming experiences!
